Birds and Flowers
A few weeks ago, I found this silly looking little flower in the dollar section of Joann's.
I knew that with a little paper, Mod Podge, and distressing, I could really make it bloom.

The next transformation began when a co-worker gave me a Costco-sized tin of Pirouettes. Husband ate the vanilla ones, and I ate the chocolate. When they were gone, I had the perfect tin for a little bedside trashcan for tissues.
With some book pages, scrapbooking paper, and Mod Podge, I gave it a whole new look. I love the way it turned out!

An Explanation
Hello! If you take a walk through my blog, you'll notice that most of the posts dated before this one, were put up over a couple of days. To be honest, I started Always Springtime Flowers quite a while ago, and then got caught up with life, and forgot about it. Then I realized that though I had stopped posting projects, I hadn't stopped taking pictures of them. I didn't want to miss out on sharing them, so I put them up so that they could still be enjoyed.
From here on out, I will endeavor to stay more current.

Enjoy Springtime, wherever you are.

Quilled Gifts
A few months ago I decided I was going to learn the ancient art of quilling. I got excited, and made a couple of gifts for friends.
The first is a picture frame that went into a friend's nursery. Lovely shades of pink and green, I think.

The second is a, well, I'm not sure what you'd call it. But it was a housewarming gift for a friend, and her husband. They have a baby "bird," named Eden.

Mother/Daughter Hairpiece Set
I made this set to send to my dear friend, Lilly, and her girl. Unfortunately when she got them, her daughter's had fallen apart in the mail (though her's was still mostly intact). I used fabric glue, but apparently I should have used a glue gun. Or something else? Lesson learned. I want to get it figured out, because I think they turned out really pretty! The button centers are handmade with black organza.

First Paper Dahlias
These were my first successful attempts at paper dahlias. Both papers were purchased at an adorable shop in Estes Park.

Brendan and Carissa
I have to admit that out of all the weddings I've done, the way these flowers turned out is my favorite. The bride, Carissa, is an interior designer with an impeccable eye for color, and texture. She chose all the flowers, and I arranged them.

Kast Wedding
These are flowers that I did for my boss's daughter. I was in a hurry to get out the door (it was snowing like crazy, and the roads were really bad), and get back home, so I didn't take the time to get great pictures. But here's what I have...
