Not-quite-traditional Wreath

This is my not-quite-traditional Christmas wreath. I actually made it last Christmas for a holiday craft fair. It didn't sell. It also didn't sell at my second craft fair. Oh well, it at least it gets to be on my door now!
Each flower is hand-cut, and glued, and lovingly arranged. It took quite a while, but I think it was worth it.
The flowers are made from a vintage devotional book, which makes them extra special.

It's not really what I had in mind for our door this year, but it'll have to do for now. My vision for the door has thus far been a total craft fail (more on that later).

Oops, how did she get in a post about a wreath? Oh well. Isn't she adorable?

Paper Pins for Etsy

This week I realized that I don't have any of these flowers for my etsy shop.
I love blue and yellow together. One of my favorite color combos right now.

The button on this one is vintage.
It's from my grandma's vintage button stash...
of course to her it's just her button stash. These are all up for sale. Go take a look
(remember there's a link to my store in my side bar).

New flower Pins

I threw together a few more flowers for the consignment shop.

I love making flowers because,
while I always have a vision in mind,
I never know exactly how they're going to turn out.

And since I hardly ever make the same one twice, they have a uniqueness about them.

These ones are much more time intensive...I don't make them very often.
This one is a new favorite out of all the ones I've made.
Just gotta love those red polka dots on white.

New flower Pins

I should be packing for my trip to Nashville. But I hate packing (it'll get done), so instead I want to leave you with my latest flowers.
These are for the consignment shop that sells my flower pins.

I leave tonight, and while I'm excited to see my family and go to my home away from home, I HATE flying. It really makes me nervous. It's not so bad when Husband comes, but he can't this time. It's going to be my first time flying since the pat-downs started. Yuck. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way about flying.

I'll be back at the end of next week.
Have a lovely weekend!

Books and Buttons Bouquet

I put this little dandy together over the weekend,
and fell in love with the combination of
blue buttons and book pages.
It has several different kinds of flowers, all made from the same book.
And has lots of different, delightful blue buttons and brads.
Hope this little bouquet brightens your day.

Paper Corsages and Boutonnieres

Hello! I'm back. Today was the last day of school, so I should have a little more time for crafting and blogging now. Anyway, the project I'm sharing is one that I did for school. The eighth grade teacher asked me to make corsages and boutonnieres for the students to give to their parents during the parent tribute at eighth grade graduation. I was happy to do it. It was a LOT of work to make all of them, but I love how they turned out.
Their class colors were silver and emerald green, hence the green flowers, and silver ribbon.

Emerald Rosettes

I'm sorry that I'm a little behind in posting crafty things. This coming week is the last week of my school year, and I've been running like crazy to wind things down. I'm physically and mentally exhausted. I actually have been crafting and decorating, but all for school events...and I'm not finished yet. I will get back to regular crafting posts, but it may be several days.

For now I leave you with these shimmery green rosettes. They're for a lovely school project that I'm excited to reveal in the next couple of days. I love it when work and crafting coincide.

Sunshine Bouquet

Happy Mother's Day to mothers everywhere!
I myself am not a mom,
but I know plenty of women who are,
and I have great love and respect for them.

In honor of Mother's Day,
I want to share this sunny bouquet
made from my newest flowers.

If I may be so bold as to say, it's lovely.

It would make a bright and unique bridal bouquet,
a sunny gift for a friend,
or the perfect summer accent for a table.

And it (minus the vase) will be available for purchase within the next few days.
