Tangerine and Light Blue

My SIL has a friend with whom she regularly exchanges letters
(wish we all did).
So she asked me to make her some cards,
which I readily agreed to do.
She told me that she likes eggshell blue, and tangerine,
but left me to my creative devices beyond that.
I couldn't find "eggshell" paper, but the orange I used is actually called "tangerine."
It's nice every once in a while when the stars align.
And so these birds were born.
I've mentioned before that I like simple cards,
ones that can actually fit into a regular envelope.
Here they are, all cutely 'twined and ready to go.

Inspired by a Student

Confession, I am not a bright colors kind of girl. It's not that I don't like them; I just don't wear them often or decorate with them. A little while ago I realized I don't even craft with them, but I also realized that I like it when other people do.

I have a student who's full of sweetness, and sunshine. She loves bright colors, particularly orange. It was she who (unknowingly) inspired me to break out of my mold and make this set of cards. Teachers would do well to remember to take a few lessons from their students more often. I adore the way these turned out, and will definitely use more bold colors in the future.

First Card Collection

A close friend of mine commissioned me to make her a set of "spring birdie" cards. She asked for 10 of them, so I made five different designs, two each.
I know there are much fancier homemade cards out there, but right now I'm into simplicity; gorgeous paper, paper punches, and cute stamps.
There are actually more exciting details to the story, but I'm not ready to share them yet. Please stay tuned though, 'cause I have some anticipated news coming up.

I love how they turned out!

Spring Cards

I love making cards, and spring is the perfect inspiration. The stamps are from Husband for my birthday (he got me a bunch of them), and the branch paper punch was a gift from my MIL.
One of my goals in life is to cover as many surfaces as possible with pretty paper.
