Dressed up Dresser

About a year ago, at the very beginning of my crafting endeavors, I bought this hideous mini dresser at Goodwill. It was only a couple of bucks...and really, I wasn't going to ruin it any further...
Well, long story short, I finally finished it today. The paint is a sample bottle of Martha Stewert's Cornbread, which I bought at Home Depot. The little sample jars are perfect for small projects like this, and don't cost much. It isn't perfect, but I love how it turned out.Cute, no?

Since our pansies are in the background, I thought I'd show you an update. When we first bought them, they looked like this...
Today they look like this...

What's Blooming?

Yesterday Husband and I took our first spring trip to the Denver Botanic Gardens. I'm really loving my first Denver spring. For the passed three years we've lived in the mountains, at nearly 9,000', where spring doesn't happen until the middle of June. It's so nice to have flowers in April again.

The prairie crocus has special meaning for us because they were always the first flowers to bloom where we lived in the mountains. At the end of May we would go for hikes just to look for them. When we found them, we knew spring really was coming...even if it was June.
My favorite flowers are probably pansies.
Beautiful, no?

So naturally, we had to stop at Home Depot on the way home to buy some pansies of our own. We don't have a yard (which makes us sad...someday we will have a beautiful one!) We had a lovely time potting them, and they look super cute sitting on our table on our deck.
